Schwarz Custom Boots is a family owned and operated business. Located in beautiful Dillon, Montana, in the southwest corner of the Big Sky Country. Every pair is built exclusively by Dan, his wife Julia, and daughter Keni. You will not find any employees in our shop. Each pair we make is absolutely designed by the customer, from the stitch pattern and thread color, to the vamp material and toe stitch. With that said, we will not build your boots without meeting with you in person, because we will not guarantee the fit unless we personally measure your feet and legs. We, at Schwarz Custom Boots, take care to satisfy every customer and their individual needs. Every boot, from the top stitch to the toe shape, is unique to the customer. A last is made for each customer from the nine measurements taken of the feet and legs for a fit unlike any they have ever experienced . Quality leathers from cowhide to kangaroo to ostrich are available in a rainbow of colors. So if you are the flamboyant, punchy cowboy, or the conservative business man looking for that perfect office boot, we are up to the challenge.

                                            OUR HISTORY
            Dan Schwarz, with his wife Julia, and daughter Keni, own and operate Schwarz Custom Boots.
                  Dan was raised in the ranch and farm country of north central Montana, and eventually settled on Dillon and Beaverhead county as a place to raise his family.
                   After working in the cattle industry for several years, he hung up his spurs and made the life changing decission to buy the local boot and shoe repair shop, Blacktail Bootery.
                  Keni literally grew up beside her dad in the ways of a cowboy and boot maker.  Keni has been in the boot business since the age of 16. Now, with hundreds of pairs of boots behind her, she loves to share her ability by creating new designs for each and every customer.
                  Keni first studied the art, with master boot maker Mike Ives from Billings, Montana.   Mr. Ives started building boots shortly after World War II.
                  Dan and Keni went to St. Jo, Texas in January 2001 to study with Carl Chappell. Walking away from the school in St. Jo with three finished pairs, and feeling confident, they hung out their own shingle, and have been building boots ever since.
                    Julia was born and raised in Idaho a stones throw from Dillon. She is an accomplished artist in her own right, and adds a great deal of color to the shop. Under the care of Dan and Keni's teachings, Julia has become a true asset to the heart of the shop. She joined the boot shop full time in the fall of 2007.
